New Milestone - 100,000 Pageviews

I just hit over 100,000 pageviews over the weekend!

Back on August 1st of 2013, I posted a 50k pageview milestone.  Less than 5 months later I've doubled that!  Considerng it took 16 months to hit the first 50k, I'm now increasing at a much faster pace.  From the graph above, I've reached over 10k pageviews the last few months.  I never thought I'd have this many people interested in what I'm doing.

The only thing frustrating is the spam links.  If anyone knows a good way to stop the spam postings or the fake pageviews from sites like vampirestat please let me know.  This can certainly skew the results.

Thanks again to everyone that comes to visit.  I appreciate all of the support on my journey to FI.

  1. Congratulations! That's outstanding AAI. That should help your Adsense revenue a bit. Merry Christmas

    1. Hi Bryan,

Thanks! My adsense revenue is about $20/mo currently. Hopefully it increases more this year but the aim isn't to make much on adsense revenue. It would be a nice bonus though! Merry Christmas.

  3. Grats, that's quite a growth curb there. I'd also like to know how to block pageview count from vampirestat.com.

    1. Hi Captain,

Thanks! It doesn't look like you can block them, but maybe if I ignore the site long enough it will go away. Just be sure and not visit their website.

      Take care!

  5. AAI,

Congrats on the milestone. Keep it up!

Your success is inspiring many people out there, so I'm sure that's translating into the pageviews.

    Best wishes!

    1. Hey DM,

Thanks! I don't think I'll every catch up to your popularity LOL but I am just happy to be making progress.

  7. Great milestone!

As far as spam referrals are concerned, there's not much you can do about it. Best is NOT to click on any of those referral links. Focus on your blog, that's what us readers care about anyway!

Google "[FAQ] What Are The Bogus, High Activity Links In My Stats Logs?" to read more about spam referrals.

    1. Hi FerdiS,

      Thanks!

Yeah, I'm not clicking on them but it's frustrating I can't do anything about it. I guess I'll have to wait for google to do something.

      Take care!

  8. Congrats on the milestone!
    A great number!

    And Spam...
I don´t know why, but on my blog the spam from December 25 was 5 times higher than the other days...
But the spam-plugin works very well!
And so I have just a little effort with spam!

    Best regards!

    1. Dividen-Sammler,

Thanks! It's not the spam comments that are a huge problem (although they are annoying sometimes), it's mainly the spam pageviews that I can't stop. Oh well.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Congrats on reaching 100k pageviews! It's amazing to see how the pageviews/visitors continue to grow as you get more established with blogging and stay consistent with it. It's a lot like investing because the beginning is the hardest, is an extra $15 per month in dividends really worth it or is 200 pageviews worth your effort? But as time goes on both pageviews and dividends will continue to grow. Keep up the good work and best of luck in 2014!

    1. Hey PIP,

Thanks! I agree that the pageviews are growing like the dividends. I just needed a little traction and now my snowball is getting larger and rolling faster down the hill!

      Take care!

Your analogy to pageview growth compared to dividends is a great one. I will keep that in my mind when I would like my pageviews to grow faster. I will stay committed to my blog, and like my dividends achieve growth in the number of readers.
